If Beaches are on Earth, I can't wait to see Heaven!

So this weekend my dad's company paid for the company to go to VA Beach. I was so excited because I basically won't be having a vacation this summer and not to mention I am a water baby! It was fun and relaxed but obviously not long enough. We got there about 9:30 friday night and went out to a cafe thing to get something to eat, but we were all pretty much pooped so we went up to our hotel and went to sleep. The next morning we loafed for a short while but I was way too excited to spend the day doing all of my favorite things! And incase you're wondering what all of my favorite things are, they basically include ANYTHING at the beach! But first dad wanted to take a bubble bath, see below for results. It was so funny.. and it could've been awkward for me to see my own dad in the bath tub... but considering he was mor covered than he is when he goes to church.. it wasn't so bad. We later went out and laid/napped on the beach. I got in a little but since I was with party pooper 1 and 2 I didn't stay in for long. After a while we walked around the strip and shopped and we bought some tourist items, namely Saltwater Taffy. That evening we went to dinner at Tortugas with everyone that was there that weekend. Mom was feeling insecure because we were the only uncleaned ones. But not me! I love the feeling of the beach in my hair! The next morning (Sunday) We just walked up and down the boardwalk and saw lots of dolphins and I was SOO HAPPY! And grateful for the Lord's tender mercies because He knows how much I love dolphins. I think I will work at Seaworld. So then the weekend quickly ended, but it's ok. Because I'm realizing that when I graduate I am a free agent to the world and can be traded anywhere I please. And by that I mean.. I can move to a beach if I want to and can't nobody stop me! Especially being a nurse.. I can really go ANYWHERE! So the Virgin Islands, Florida, Cali and NC are sounding good right now.. but I've still got a few months!! So here are some pics of the trip.. and they are out of order but whatev!

Just a day in the Life....

hm, well today was filled with some funny things. I will share them with you.

1. Most people enjoy having outdoor furniture, a nice table with coordinating chairs.. and the occasional coordinating toilet..on the porch, with the chairs..at the table.

2. Sometimes people are in a hurry and need to grab an energy bar, an apple or a bagel and eat it in the car... or some grab corn on the cob.

3. Going to the friendly neighborhood ice cream shop is always a family-friendly affair, add a movie in the background with a man on the floor bleeding to death from his face and having the crap kicked out of him can only get better when a feminine lass screams profanities, nothing makes the heart warmer.

4. Telling jokes can be a fun pastime. Here's one my sister shared with me today:

So.. if you've been missing me, it's justified...look at all the fun that follows me!

Pow-Pow, or Kung Pow?

So, this weekend mom dad and I went gun shopping. It was pretty cool, but I might as weel have gone in Greece, or Japan or Croatia because I didn't understand what the HECK they were talking about. Dad has discovered his current fettish (feddish?), which is guns. He asked me if I wanted to take a gun to school... but I had certain requirements. Dad also wants us women-folk to take a "situational awareness" class which would be cool, but I'd like to take a class to learn to whoop some tail. Anyway... here is a visual tour of our day at the gun-shop!

Then Dad became sorely interested in this bear gun, which would've taken our entire family and probably a Grandma to hold when shooting. This picture doesn't do it justice.
I pretty much refused to have a gun unles it was one of the following. Pretty different I know, but also pretty hard to make a mistake with, and besides, with a bazooka, no one could get any where near me before "BLAM!" dad kept making fun of me about the mini-revolver and making whispering "pow-pow" sounds with his fingers pinched together.Truly though, I'd be just as well to have some of this handy instead, just give a good whack and start running!!Then turn a give him a good squirt!!! And no accidental shots in the foot! or face.


But at the end of the day.. if a creeper comes around the corner I'd like to make his day with a friendly foot to the face!You see, really the opportunities are endless. Choose wisely! And watch ya back!

Welcome, Welcome!

I decided to go ahead and make a blog even though I am not a precious newly-wed nor do I have cute kids to post about, but I like reading about everyone-whether or not I know them, and I thought atleast Adrienne would read about me! So, summer is pretty much half way over yet just beginning for me. I just started my new job as a nurse extern at the local hospital and will be working on the adult surgical and pediatric medical/surgical floor. While I am excited about finally doing some Peds, apparently kids around here don't get too sick too often.. I guess that's a good thing. But this new experience should be very exciting and I am hoping to enter my senior year of nursing school better than everyone else at everything :). So since it would probably violate HIPPA for me to take pictures with my patients and post them.. I will just give you a preview of what else has been going on this summer.

First I had the privilege of being reminded of everything that has gone wrong in my life. JUST KIDDING!!! It was wonderful having all the family here for Brian and Erika's wedding. I am soo very happy for them and I hope they atleast have 5 boys because they have genes for a great basketball team (I'm sure I'm the only one who will ever say that).

Second, for Memorial Day my parents, Bethany and I went to Skyline Drive and then Lurray Caverns.. needless to say Bethany and I weren't exactly expecting a hiking adventure.. and dressed accordingly. Lurray was.....interesting. No one spoke unless the guide was speaking, no child peeped unless screaming as if being tortured, no person gave any scent unless it was terrible, and no one spoke a language unless it wasn't English. We were glad to have a part of our Country's history so close by!

And third, I started this blog... and am still trying to figure it out.. so forgive the disorder.
